Fashion + Style for Women Over 40

What I Wore Recently | Volume 2

This week was a tad of a tease. It cooled down for several days and then shot right back up into the 90s. Regardless, I am still choosing to wear my early fall pieces. I am about over this heat!

The Monochrome Look

If you are ever struggling to put an outfit together and you’re running low on time, grab pieces in the same color family. It will instantly create a polished and chic vibe that feels and looks well thought out and put together. For this look, I am wearing an off shoulder top that is so flattering. It is available in an olive green color, too, that is also very pretty. I’m wearing a medium and it’s under $30. My pants are investment trousers ($165) but I also have tagged a very similar pair from Max Studio ($40) that I also have shown in the past and absolutely love. My clutch is my favorite part of this look and it’s under $20. The handle slips on your finger making for a beautiful ring appearance.

Casual but Sophisticated Style

I love denim and thankfully I can wear them to the office. I wouldn’t wear cropped jeans if I was meeting clients, but this was an admin day that kept me in the office on my computer. So comfort is key. I have shown this short sleeve lady cardigan in black and apricot before. This olive green color is simply stunning. It is lightweight, perfect for late summer and early fall. My jeans are the comfiest pair I own; perfectly stretchy in all the right places without getting stretched out. A recent addition for me are these loafer mules by Dolce Vita that are exceptional. They have some padding in the insole making it a cushiony feel against the foot. And to pull it all together, I added this cute belt and handbag.

The Softest, Double Lined Versatile Top You Will Ever Wear

These tops are buttery soft and double lined. I love anything versatile and these tops deliver on that. Wear as a cowl-neck, one shoulder off or completely off the shoulders. This top makes for a great day to night staple that can easily be worn to the office and then out to dinner. I sized up to a medium because it is fitted and have it in black and white. Also, this top is VERY similar to the Skims tops that are way more expensive. And you know I love saving all of us money! Paired with my favorite brand of everyday trouser pants by Abercrombie, a wide belt and heel.

The Viral Sweater Vest

This sweater vest has taken on a life of its own. I am seeing it everywhere, and for good reason! It is super soft and cozy and perfect for transitioning from summer into Fall. You can style this vest as I have with a lightweight tank underneath or add a tee, button down or long sleeve top underneath. It is available in several colors. I am wearing a size small; runs oversized as that is the look. Paired with black trousers and a capped toe slingback for a comfy but stylish workday outfit that can also easily go into nighttime. My handbag is a designer look for less. The designer one would set you back $4k. This one is under $75.
