What I Wore Recently | Volume 1
Welcome to my new series, “What I Wore Recently.”
This week was jammed pack with meetings and appointments. During the day, I run a small company focusing on developing next generation female leaders. I work with women both in and out of the corporate world helping them maximize their potential in everything that they do. I absolutely LOVE that I get to do this and I love that denim is a work staple for me.
The first four looks of what I wore lately are all about these Paige Wide Leg Leenah Denim jeans in the color Volar Distressed. I am obsessed with these for two reasons – they have some stretch and the wide leg is not overly done. So it still provides a lengthening silhouette. These are a higher priced denim, but, honestly, the feel and fit on them is exceptional. If these are out of your price range, this pair is another favorite that is super affordable and a go to in my denim rotation. The fit is very similar but the detail on the hem is quite different.
The Classic Button Down

I love a good button down and it is probably my most worn look (denim + a button down). This button down is from one of my favorite affordable brands and has a soft boyfriend fit that can easily be styled. I added a belt (because I rarely leave the house without one) and a comfy pair of driving loafers that are a recent purchase.
The Cropped Trench

Swapped out the button down for a white tee and a cropped trench that is so on trend for this season. I love a cropped trench because I still get the structure of the trench without all the volume. Paired with neutral accessories.
The Camel Blazer

If a more structured look is more your thing, a tailored blazer like this one is perfect. This one has a gold button and elbow patches, which I adore that extra bit of detail, giving it a higher end feel. Accessories stayed the same here.
The Black Utility Blouse

I’ve been wearing this blouse all summer with jeans, shorts and even skirts. It’s lightweight and will transition nicely into Fall looks with the addition of a lightweight jacket or cardigan as I am wearing. My belt is reversible and the other side offers a butterscotch color. The leather is super soft and this is easily one of my top 3-4 belts that I wear often.
A Classic & Chic Look for a Day in the Office

Moving on with “what I wore recently” is a workday outfit. When I am getting dressed for meetings, I tend to go for one of two things: a lady cardigan or a blazer. I find that either of these instantly elevates any look and gives it a bit more sophistication while still allowing me to be comfortable throughout the day. These trousers are a favorite of mine and I own them in several colors. The weight is perfect and they are lined, plus affordable.
Investment Jeans That Are SO Worth It
That last of my weekly “what I wore recently” looks is an elevated everyday style. I shared these Spanx jeans several times and they are always a fan favorite. While on the pricier side, and I don’t tend to splurge on denim that much, the fit on these is exceptional. They have a medium amount of compression (you can still breathe!) and they lift your booty. Plus the long, straight leg provides overall lengthening, even more so when worn with a heel. And the tummy control on these is insanely good.
This short sleeve cardigan I am wearing is under $40 and comes in a ton of colors. I loved it so much that I purchased it in black, beige and olive green. The gold buttons make it look exceptionally high end for an affordable price.
