The Black Teddy Coat | Avec Les Filles

I always know when I am out shopping and come across something I love that I will wear it; almost obsessively (just ask my husband!). And this black teddy coat has definitely gotten its fair share of use this fall and winter.

It is soft, keeps me warm (I’m generally always cold), and comes in at a great price point. What I love about this coat is that you get the look of a teddy coat without the oversized look that so many of the styles have. If you’re living somewhere in the Midwest, the more oversized ones are a must. Here in North Carolina, it gets cold but never stays super cold for too long. This can easily be layered under another jacket.

MATERIAL & CARE:

This coat is made from a polyester and faux leather blend. Due to the nature of the faux leather, you would need to have this coat dry-cleaned. However, if you have a steam refresh cycle on your dryer, you could do that. I do that for most faux leather things, except when the item is all faux leather.

FIT & SIZING

I was looking for a relaxed fit – not too tight, not too oversized. Especially since this is a modern style that isn’t meant to be worn oversized. I normally wear a small to medium coat and chose a medium for this coat. I wanted to be able to add a layer or two underneath, so I sized up to the medium. I am 5’11” and the length of this is perfect.
