Capsule Wardrobe Style Inspo | Spring 2024

One of my favorite things to create for you is capsule wardrobe essentials.  These wardrobe capsules or essentials serve as a great springboard for creating easy, go-to outfits without having to invest a ton of money and provide you with multiple, versatile looks leaning on only a few basic items, some of which you likely already own.

SPRING WARDROBE CAPSULE ESSENTIALS

This Spring I am all about beige and blue.  I tend not to gravitate toward much color because when you start adding in color, the “mix”ability and versatility often decrease.  And, if you’re like me, you prefer to build your wardrobe around key staples that can function and serve you multiple ways.  Here are my Spring wardrobe capsule essentials that I am loving right now.

First row, we have a blazer, a lightweight jacket in a neutral tone, a denim jacket and a lightweight cardigan.  Even in the middle of summer, I am always carrying something lightweight with me as restaurants, shops and offices tend to run too cold for my liking.  These are a perfect accompaniment for this.

Second row we are focusing on tops and a versatile dress.  This white ruffle sleeve top is adorable and can easily be paired with shorts, jeans, trousers or a skirt.  A printed top is a great way to throw in some patterns or colors to your wardrobe without over committing.  A casual blouse is a great way to update a look making your outfit look clean and chic, even though you’re still super comfy.    Lastly, we have a casual dress in a neutral tone that can be paired with sneakers, flip flops or a wedge heel or sandal to easily change the look.

In the last rows, we are going for total basics- a good pair of denim jeans and a great white skirt (denim is a great choice) can be styled with everything here.  Opt for neutral shoes and totes or handbags to maximize the versatility of this entire capsule.

SPRING ACCESSORY CAPSULE ESSENTIALS

Let’s talk about accessories.  This is probably the part of my wardrobe where I have the most fun.  I firmly believe that good accessories can take any outfit from day to night, from casual to elevated and everything in between. Here are my top picks for Spring accessories.

 

A scarf is such a versatile item.  You can wear this to create some interest at your neckline with a button down shirt or a tee shirt, or you can wear it to cover your hair to keep the sun away, or wear as a wrap around your bathing suit.  I never travel without a good scarf that compliments most of my looks.

A one-piece bathing suit at my age is key.  I will still wear a 2-piece swimsuit; however, it has to be high waisted and have good coverage overall.  This light blue bathing suit is simply beautiful and it’s a color that suits most skin tones.  When opting for a swim coverup, always choose one that can do double duty- it should also be able to function alone as a dress, making it a great piece to travel with.

Opt for neutral toned accessories to get the most out of your accessories; they can easily interchange between outfits.
