Ring In The New Year | Look One
I never turn down an opportunity to ring in the new year; however, as I have gotten older, ringing in the new year looks a little differently. Tight dresses, bare legs, and super high heels are no longer my dress code. I now opt for comfortable outfits that give off a glamorous vibe. You can still look stunning and be comfortable. There is no need to sacrifice style for comfort.
In this blog series of three posts, I am wearing one staple piece in 3 different ways. These faux leather flare pants are slimming and comfortable. And they can easily be dressed up or down. If you’re on the fence about faux leather pants, go for it. But I would suggest investing in a pair that you will have for a while. Leather or faux leather are great classic pieces to add to your wardrobe.
My first look is all about black, gold, and sparkles. I love sequins and anything that sparkles, but not head to toe.
This Roberto Cavalli tie-front cardigan sweater was an investment piece. While several years old, you can find these on The Real Real and Poshmark, which are pre-owned and more affordable. I have tagged very similar styles below so that you can achieve the same look.
I’m wearing 7 for All Mankind faux leather pants. These are a great price point for a pair of faux leather pants that you will have for a long time. And they can easily be styled down or up, depending on the look you want to achieve. Most often, if I am spending more on a wardrobe item, it needs to be versatile and transitional.
My shoes are Badgley Mischka and surprisingly comfortable for a higher heel. I decided on pearl and rhinestone shoes so that they wouldn’t compete with the gold sequins from the sweater. My shoes are no longer available, but I have tagged similar options, one with a block heel to be even comfier.
For my accessories, I chose a beautiful and affordable pair of rhinestone drop earrings in a leaf pattern with a faux leather gold handbag to pull this look together.
So when the ball drops and the clock strikes midnight, I will be comfy but chic in this stylish outfit as I ring in the new year!
Cheers to you all!
