The Weekly Styled Look for Fall | Volume 9
Burgundy Bliss: The Season’s Hottest Color
Welcome back to this volume of the Weekly Styled Look. Burgundy, a rich and sophisticated hue, is making a major comeback this season. Its deep, jewel-toned shade adds a touch of elegance and warmth to any outfit. Whether you’re a fashion risk-taker or prefer a more classic look, there are plenty of ways to incorporate burgundy into your wardrobe. I definitely prefer a more subtle style when dressing, but do love to incorporate prints and patterns into my looks.
I am loving these rich hues. Something about these colors just makes it all feel so luxe; however, these pieces are all at great price points. If a head to toe look isn’t something you care for, look for ways to incorporate accessories, like a handbag, watch, scarf or jewelery into your look.

The Foundation
- Burgundy Jeans: whether they’re wide-leg, skinny, or flared, they are a versatile and stylish option. Corduroy is a particularly popular fabric for burgundy pants this season. If you’re looking for something a bit more elevated, opt for a burgundy trousers like these (under $40) or these.
- The Dress: Burgundy dresses come in a variety of styles, from flowy maxi dresses to fitted midi dresses. A burgundy dress is a chic and sophisticated choice for any occasion. For this look, I chose a pattern to emphasize the burgundy color but allow for more styling options. If you prefer an all burgundy look, I would suggest this tie waisted midi dress or this v-neck sweater dress.
The Tops
- The Crew Neck: I love stripes because it instantly has a bit more polish worn alone than a solid tee. This can be paired with dark wash denim, cream or burgundy.
- The Cardigan: When I purchase sweaters or cardigans, I always look for neutral tones because they are going to be more versatile, like this cream lady cardigan. If you wanted to opt for something that has burgundy, I would look for something with either a burgundy trim or a striped version. This burgundy tweed cardigan is classic in style and absolutely gorgeous.
The Accessories
- Handbags: A burgundy handbag is a stylish way to add some flair to your outfit. This is especially lovely when going with a monochromatic look (think all grays, blacks or creams). This pop of color creates interest. Choose a classic style, such as a tote bag or a crossbody bag.
- Shoes: Burgundy shoes are a versatile and stylish choice. You can choose from a variety of styles, such as boots, pumps, and loafers. I prefer a ballet flat as I know I will get the most use out of this style. But it all comes down to preference.
- Jewelry: Burgundy jewelry is a great way to add a touch of elegance to your outfit. Gold and silver jewelry both look great with burgundy.
Putting it Together
These pieces are versatile. Whether opting for burgundy jeans (corduroy is super trendy) or a pair of trousers, you can choose a monochromatic look which always comes off polished. Or pair this rich hue with creams, tans or bones, creating a lighter look on top. Add this cardigan for a layered look and you have an easy outfit that looks sophiticated.
Need a dressier option? This dress can be styled multiple ways. I’ve paired it with suede boots and a tote bag for a more casual style, but add a heel and a cape and you have a casual wedding look or a great date night look.
