The Weekly Styled Look for Fall | Volume 5
Classically Black and White | Closet Staples
I’m back with another weekly styled look. Fall is here, and with it comes a new season of style. Whether you’re looking for something casual and comfortable or a more dressed-up look, there are plenty of outfit options to keep you warm and stylish.
I prefer a more neutral wardrobe where I can easily swap and mix pieces to achieve different looks without having to invest a ton of money in new pieces each season. This weekly styled look below provides 10 versatile closet staples that can create multiple looks. All photos are shoppable, just click on each for more information.

1. Black and White Double-breasted Coat: A classic piece that adds a touch of sophistication to any outfit. This coat can easily be dressed up or down. Pair with black trousers and a striped tee or throw on a sweater in cooler weather. Opt for a casual vibe with sneakers or a more classic look with these bow ballet flats.
2. The Black and White Striped Sweater: A timeless layering piece that’s both cozy and stylish. This will blend seamlessly in your closet. Pair with black trousers, jeans or add over a dress to change up the vibe. Sweaters make for great layering pieces.
3. Black Straight Leg Trouser Pant: A good pair of straight leg trousers tend to get a lot of wear, at least in my closet. I wear black trousers at least once a week, more often in Fall and Winter. They are easy to style and I don’t have to worry about them showing dirt when the weather turns. Pair with a tee, a cardigan or a lightweight sweater.
4. The Sneaker: We have seen such a resurgence in sneakers over the last year or two and, personally, I love it. I wear sneakers with just about anything – trousers, denim, dresses, skirts. Comfort and style are both possible.
5. The Mock Turtleneck Dress: Dresses are so versatile. Add a blazer, a cardigan or a sweater over to change up the look. Pair with sneakers for a casual and comfy vibe or a cute pair of ballet flats for a dressier option.
6. The Black Bag: A practical and stylish bag for carrying your essentials. I do love a good tote bag, but sometimes I want something a bit less bulky but still need room for my things. A bag like this will do the trick. It’s stylish and can easily go from day to night.
7. The Belt: If you have followed for me any length of time, you will know that I wear belts almost daily. I love how it creates definition at the waist and how it can take a basic dress like the one here and instantly elevate it with this one accessory.
8. Gold Coin Earrings: A classic accessory that complements any outfit. These coin earrings add an element of interest without overpowering the look. You can wear these with just about any look, giving a simple jeans and tee outfit a bit of a boost or wearing them to finish off a dressier look.
9. Bow Ballet Flats: I’m a shoe girl and love how a pair of shoes can change any look. These bow ballet flats are the perfect compliment to your outfits, providing a classic and timeless vibe that looks effortless.
10. Striped Tee: Total french girl chic here. I have about 6-8 striped tees because I love how it is slightly elevated from a basic white or black tee, giving a more polished look. Pair with trousers, denim, a midi skirt or over a dress to change the whole look.
Creating Versatile Outfits with This Weekly Styled Look
The versatility of these fall essentials is what makes them so appealing. I believe that every item we add to our wardrobe should be adaptable. While there are always exceptions, I generally avoid loud colors, floral prints, and overly trendy pieces. I prefer items that can be styled in multiple ways. Here are a few ideas to inspire you using the eight pieces from this week’s outfit:
- Casual: Pair the sweater with jeans and sneakers for a relaxed and comfortable look. Add a beanie and scarf for extra warmth.
- Dressy: Wear the dress with the coat and flats for a more polished look. Add a statement necklace or earrings to accessorize.
- Layered: Layer the sweater over a button-down shirt for a more sophisticated look. Add a blazer or leather jacket for extra warmth.
A wardrobe of timeless essentials that can be mixed and matched to create endless outfits is an easier way to dress. Remember, the key to a stylish wardrobe isn’t about owning the latest trends, but about investing in pieces that you love and can wear again and again. With these ten versatile pieces, you’ll be able to effortlessly elevate your fall style and express your personal aesthetic in various ways.
